THE SEA WOLVES

TITLE: THE SEA WOLVES
ARTIST: ROY BUDD

IN LOVE (Warsaw Concerto)

DETAILS
The fourth film score that Roy Budd wrote for producer Euan Lloyd, The Sea Wolves soundtrack features his work with a large orchestra where he interweaves two primary themes from Richard Addinsell’s Warsaw Concerto. Big on getting mileage from his movie’s themes, Lloyd often commissioned lyrics to go with them, recognizing the value with assisting promotion – this time Leslie Bricusse was the man to provide the words, Matt Monro the singer.

The film itself is based on James Leasor’s book ‘Boarding Party’ – a rousing tale of action at sea in 1943, with Gregory Peck and Roger Moore faced with destroying a German transmitter in the port of Goa, while keeping Portugal’s W.W.2 neutrality intact.
